Today one of the readers prompted me that couldn’t i go to in and out of this blog post and i realized it was a mistake by me as i tend to write rather shorter post hence forget that some readers would expect in-depth analysis or detailed description about the topic I am discussing with readers. And I have learned from my experience that the length of the post matter most in addition to its content. How long a Blog post should be primarily depends on the topic you are discussing, However if you write something insubstantial or measly (like i did) it would definitely annoy the readers and some of my loyal readers and friends criticized helped me overcome it.
Most people blog for fun but in fact blogging is no fun, i meant if you don’t write properly and don’t provide the required detailed, you would end up losing loyal readers and it might scare the new reader away from the site as well, that said readers also appreciate blog posts that are written to the point, even in some cases shorter blog post get as much exposure or appreciation as long post do, one of its examples is Techeblog, Since i mostly write for Internet and Technology therefore I am focusing on blogs in my niche, However in most cases popular blogs like Techcrunch, ReadwriteWeb, etc always tend to provide in-depth analysis of the topic they are discussing with their readers. Nevertheless they are always talking to the point and that is the main key. Here is an example of pretty long post or the longest post i have ever seen and it i think made to the FP of Digg DoshDosh Guide on Stumbleupon
So Ideally in my view a blog post should be around 250 words to 400 words then again it depends on the topic you are writing about, what is more crucial that you should not miss out what readers are expecting there and nor you should put what could annoy or waste readers time.
Most people including me start blogging just for fun or as a hobby even for that you should not write measly or you would end up wasting your and your readers time, A Well written and to the point post always get admiration and can help you pick up loyal visitor over the period of short time.
