Even though Both Joomla and WordPress are most powerful and popular Opensource Content Management systems yet some people find it confusing that which one is better. To me this is not a question of which one is bad or good it’s more about your needs. Joomla is mainly used for Webportals with diverse functionality and its an entire universe in its own niche. And to use this application only for the purpose of Blogging is not an good idea. If you are more into Blogging then I would recommend you a full-featured CMS known as WordPress, Both of them have thousands of free add-ons or known as plugins which can enhance the functionality of your website or blog. However WordPress is not a good choice if you want to run for instance a shopping portal where you sell merchandise. While Joomla is a perfect tool for running an online store with some free or commercial plugins. I personally love both of them. I started with Joomla and ended up with wordpress it’s not because i don’t like Joomla anymore, it’s because my focus shifted from development to blogging.
