    tumblr-comments

If you happen to have a blog at Tumblr one of the popular blogging platforms, you would notice that Tumblr does not provide the funtionality of Comments, Hence this is also debating issue among the Tumblr users whether to have comments or not.

Anyway, If you choose to have comments on your tumblelog then it’s made very easy with DISQUS, I recently started my personal Blog at Tumblr here and this was for the first time i started using both Tumblr and DISQUS services. DISQUS can also be used for other popular blogging applications like Wordpress, Blogger etc. And it’s very powerful tool, I did hear about it before but never tested it out., If you notice Popular Tech Blog Mashable also use this service as their default commenting system. One of the nicest features of DISQUS is that it automatically integrates ‘Facebook Connect’ that allows facebook users to leave comments just with one click, they don’t have to sign up for DISQUS also If you feel bothered with signing up then you can leave comments anonyously too. DISQUS also provide the funtionality of leaving Video comments via integration with Seemic.

    Anyway to enable comments in Tumblelog, You would first need to sign up with DISQUS and from there you would need follow on-screen instructions. Just enter the URL of your Blog, description and Nickname it, that’s it. At the end you would be asked to choose the platform of your blog i.e Wordpress, Blogger and in our Case it’s Tumblr and there you would get little piece of ‘code’ to insert inside your Tumblelog template it’s as easy as pie nothing to worry about the tutorial is very much self-explantory. And That’s it. Have fun with your tumblelog :-}

Thank you for sharing this! I have been trying to figure out how to turn comments on inside of tumblr.

Oddly enough, I had chosen the exact same theme as you did, Vertigo, which was nice to see the function of it as well.

      Thanks again!

Is this very tool I’m using for this comment powered by disqus?

Because it doesn’t look like the regular disqus one (no logo, no disqus log in, etc).

      Thanks for the tip!

Sorry, what I meant was: I don’t really fancy disqus, I wonder if I could use something like this, simple WP comment tool in my tumblr.

      Thanks!

      Imran,

Thanks for pointing me toward Disqus.

Can I manually change the padding between the Disqus comment link and the previous posts’ title?

They seem to be overlapping :/

Hmm, I looked there first but no luck.
It’s not so much the layout of the comments, but rather the location of the link to the comments.

I should make a post in their help forum. Thanks for the quick response Imran.

That is why I like Disqus so much. It offers so much flexibility and features that not a single user could complain. Everybody has everything he/she wants. Isn't that great?

Tumblr is a re-envisioning of tumblelogging, a subset of blogging that uses quick, mixed-media posts. The service hopes to do for the tumblelog what services like LiveJournal and Blogger did for the blog.acnee

    24. Disqus is a popular commenting platform and it is happy thing that Disqus is connected to Facebook because I am looking for a quick and easy way to implement Facebook as well as Disqus…

    25. Disqus lets you easily track all comments you have left scattered over the blogosphere.

You can only manage the layout of comments in the backend at disqus.com… they let you configure it.
