As i predicted in my initial Post about Microsoft’s New Search Engine Bing, that there is nothing at this point that makes Bing to be called Google Killer however it’s an improved version of Live Search Engine and is better in many ways than all of the search engines introduced by Microsoft till to date and this would rather mean tough challenges to other Search Engines who are struggling to survive or compete, just Like Yahoo and AOL, and Few days after this prediction came really true StatCounter who monitors the search engines today released the Data that bing overtook the US Market as the No.2 search Engine and leaving Yahoo in the 3rd Place. The current Market share of bing is estimated at 16.28% while Yahoo is at 10.22% and this has happened just after the few days since its launch. Well there could be various factors that would have led this to happen. As indicated in Washington Post article that could be because people at this point are test driving it and another reason possibly could be that Bing has been forced upon the IE6 users worldwide, still the widely used web browser. However we need to see Bing growth closely in weeks ahead, If bing keeps growing and sustains the growth then who knows we might really have Google challenger.
