Over the period of two years I have noticed many blogs that fail to succeed or continue their growth are esp., the ones having the Team of one person. There are various factors involved that could lead to the failure of any blog. However i don’t agree to the argument that Blogging has become obsolete or near to its end.
In fact blogging is evolving and in today’s world where information spread from one pole of the earth to the other in a matter of few seconds it has rather become very competitive job. It’s not as easy as it used to be. Anyhow today I would Analyze some of the factors that could bring failure to a blog.
1. Lust to Make money.
Most of the blogs that I have noticed that did not succeed over the time are the ones that were driven by the lust to make money rather than the passion for blogging. Everyone needs to make money, however blogs can’t generate Millions of dollar overnight. If your only purpose to blog is to make money, then i regrettably have to mention it’s not gonna work out for you. You would get fed up of it sooner or later it may be. Blogs only can be successful if you are truly a blogger and feel passionate about blogging too and money will eventually start pouring in your hands however it would take from one year to several years depending on the quality of content and consistency.
2. Immature or amateur
As i mentioned above, blogging now have become more competitive than ever. Most of the blogs that don’t succeed are run by Amateur bloggers who are just inspired by the fame of popular bloggers. If you really want to see your blog getting more traffic and getting ranked higher among other Millions of blog you would have to pay ‘extra’ attention and work even harder. There is absolutely no room for amateur bloggers any more. People have got so many other professionally written Blogs to read.
3. Social Media
Another reasons why do most blogs fail to succeed is because of the less interaction with the Blogging community through Social Media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. If you don’t engage your visitors into any kind of social activity with your Website chances are they would hardly return back to the site.
4. Lame Design of the Blog
Design in my world holds very important role in the success of any blog, if you are using default wordpress themes that are not gonna leave good impression to the readers mind esp., the First time visitors. Most of the Blogs that i noticed that lived only for few month had not a design that could attract the visitors even with the quality content. Therefore I am hardly convinced to host a blog at Blogger.com (blogspot). Design and Quality both are required to make a blog successful unless you are a ‘post-whore’ means you write 5 to 10 posts everyday and visitors eventually come to your blog through search engines.
5. Very Narrow Topic
What is most common among the failed blogs that they write about the topic that only attracts very small percentage of the Internet audience. I always emphasize that if you want to Blog about Tigers then your Blog Topic or niche should be forest means you should write on a wide range of related topics. Only go for the topics which potential readership on the internet is in Millions.
