I guess most of the Social Media geeks like me are inspired by Digg and Reddit the leading Social news site on the Web. I have tried out many applications like Pligg and Drigg to create a social Media site. However Today i found slinkset, with Slinkset you don’t need to install any application to your server unlike the other two applications i mentioned above.
All you need to create an account and choose the name of you site and That’s it. And your own Social News site would be running live in few minutes. There is no knowledge of coding required all it’s handled by the slinkset including the hosting of your site and not to mention it’s all Free of cost.
Additionally if you want to brand your Social News site you can have your very own domain for the site. Site Management is pretty easy even a novice can manage that. If you know little bit about CSS then you can even further customize the look of your site. The site created by slinkset rather looks like a replica of Reddit more than Digg.
It allows the Admin to moderate the submitted links and ban spam users and you can also assign moderators for your site as it grows. Submission of links is dependent on User registration which can be turned off, However i would suggest that don’t enable anonymous links submission due to fears of spam.
