Mixx which is probably the biggest rival to popular Social News Wesbite Digg, has just launched a New service ‘TweetMixx‘ which they say is a better way to search across Twitter that is of most interest to you. This New service by Mixx would be in head-to-head competition with Tweetmeme.
To use this service you don’t need to create a New account, they are using Twitter OAuth protocol which enable Twitter users to sign in with current Twitter username by allowing TweetMixx to access their credentials. It was very much expected move by any of the Social News Website to launch this kind of service and I am glad Mixx is ahead of its rival Digg in launching this service. As Twitter is growing exponentially so are the Web apps built around it. We can look forward to similar service to be launched by Digg as well. I have been using Mixx since the early days of their launch and since then they have come a long way to reach the Alexa Rank of 972. Most of the Mixx users are those who got fed up of Digg and just got inspired by the look and feel of Mixx.
