There are various reasons that many popular Websites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and others could be blocked in your country, at your work or at your school college. Recently i noticed that Facebook, Twitter and Youtube were blocked in Iran amid the political chaos. However Iran is not the only country to block access to certain websites, Internet users of China and Middle East also often report blockage of certain popular websites time to time.

However luckily there are several tool available on the internet such as Proxy servers which would let you access banned or Prohibited Websites despite being blocked in your country, work or school.

What is a Proxy Server ?

Here is the Brief definition of a proxy server from Wikipedia.

In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering rules. For example, it may filter traffic by IP address or protocol. If the request is validated by the filter, the proxy provides the resource by connecting to the relevant server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client’s request or the server’s response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server.

And Here we are listing some of the popular Internet Proxies which would let you access your favorite Websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Orkut etc despite being blocked in your respective territory.

On a side note, if a certain websites are blocked at your work or school then you must take cautious measure before using any of these proxy sites, I guess no one would want to do that at the cost being fired from the Job or kicked out from his school or college.

I think hide ip software and VPNs are the most secure and safe methods that provides access to blocked websites. That’s why I use which has premium proxies that are not slowing down my Internet connection.
