Earlier we explained what is Shared Hosting and in this article we would explain what is VPS which stands for Virtual Private Server and also referred as ‘Virtual Dedicated Servers’. Under VPS hosting a single physical server is partitioned into several other ‘virual’ servers and is assigned its own CPU and memory resources, Each virtual server is independent of all other virtual servers on the same physical server. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server can be independently rebooted.
VPS web hosting costs a lot more than regular Shared Hosting account which normally costs less than $10 per month, While VPS hosting accounts normally cost $50 to $200 per month. However you get more control and more dedicated resources for your Website or Blog and it can handle thousands of visitors each day. So if you are few of the lucky ones who get high traffic to their websites, then i would recommend you to host your site on any of the VPS Web hosts, Such MediaTemple (Semi-managed) KnownHost (managed) WiredTree (managed) SliceHost (unmanaged ) and DreamHost (managed) which would just upgrade your Shared Hosting to VPS with a few mouse clicks. And Now you might wonder what is managed and unmanaged VPS Web hosting account. Under Managed VPS account your Web host is responsible to manage the server maintenance like installation of OS, MySQL, PHP etc and server security -In short your Web host would take care of your server. However under ‘unmanaged VPS hosting account’ you are totally at your own, you have to install everything on it like OS, PHP, MySQL etc and handle your server security as well. Therefore unmanaged VPS costs a little bit lower than Managed VPS. So If you are not a Linux and PHP guru I would recommend you to go with a Managed Hosting.

I love using VPS. I am currently using my Dreamhost VPS and experiencing it more before I make a review about it. If you have any VPS please email me.
I am doing a review and I add it to the top 10 vps.
thanks
