If you have just joined the World of Blogging and have set up your first Blog using award-winning CMS Wordpress the next you might want to install a plugin that provides you complete statistics of the visitors of your blog. For that purpose I have been using Wordpress.com Stats plugin which is the default Statistics plugin for Wordpress.com hosted blogs as well.
For the clarification purpose, Wordpress.com is the site that offers free blog hosting for any purpose. However Wordpress.org offers the software or CMS (Content Management System) that runs a Blog, it’s used if you want to host your blog at your own through any of the paid Hosting services such as DreamHost.
So if you happen to have a blog on Wordpress.com then you might have noticed this plugin in Working already. And Luckily this plugin is available for Self-hosted Wordpress blog as well.
It provides in depth reporting of the blog posts receiving the most visitors. Along with Top referrers, the sites which are sending the traffic to your blog. The use of this plugin is free, however it requires an API key that you can get when you sign up with Wordpress.com ! So in order to use this plugin you would need to sign up with Wordpress.com. Even though there are plenty of plugins that offer the statistics However Wordpress.com Stats is simply the best solution because of its detailed information on each aspect of your blog statistics and that’s why it’s been chosen by Wordpress.com to be its default statistics Plugin ! So if you are new to blogging I would suggest to install this plugin for all of your statistics needs !
