Yes ladies and gentlemen!. Finally, the showoff between the Apple’s iOS 4 and Microsoft’s Windows 7. This was seen coming the moment Microsoft announced its plans on introducing a new OS, the Windows 7 to mobile. Microsoft sent a developer test-only unit built by LG and Samsung to test their performance and let Microsoft know in what field they need an improvement in. Microsoft is determined to be a worthy competitor of Apple in the mobile industry.
Now, the good folks over at NewsGeek, put one of the test piece for a test against an iPhone 3GS (running iOS 4). They were to compete in head-to-head web browser speed comparison, because mostly the speed and performance can be deduced from this test. We will not decide a winner from this video, because the test was conducted using 3G network and not Wi-Fi which is pretty universal. So choosing a winner just by looking at the video, would be pretty biased.
Below, is the video in which the two phones are put to test against each other, our conclusion can be found below the video.
Well, by looking at the video, we can surely deduce that the iOS 4 could beat the Winodws Phone 7. But we just cannot say that in reality, because, firstly the test was conducted on a 3G network and due to a difference in 3G capabilities of both the devices [iPhone 3GS and Samsung test device], there might be ups and downs encountered. Also, taking in consideration that this is just the developers version, and not the one that will go live, we can surely say that it performs up to its mark. Of course, after this Microsoft will indeed make some changes to it, and might even secretly test it against the iOS 4. If Microsoft needs to be a competitor, and a worthy one for that matter. They need to make sure that their upcoming OS is on the mark that it may give some tough competition to the iOS 4.
