Jony Ive to form independent design company with Apple as clientpermalink

Apple today announced that Sir Jony Ive, Apple’s chief design officer, will depart the company as an employee later this year to form an independent design company which will count Apple among its primary clients. While he pursues personal projects, Ive in his new company will continue to work closely and on a range of projects with Apple.

It’s kind of surprising that Jony Ive is leaving Apple, because he had become synonym with the Apple design. Nevertheless there shouldn’t be any sort of paranoia, because it’s never a one-man show, as there are many unsung heros who’re working as a team behind the scenes in every department. He is gonna form his own design company with Apple as a client.
